As I mentioned previoulsy, the requirments for real estate vary on the country. To become a real estate broker in Mexico, you need to at least be 18 years old (just like the US). To legally be allowed to work in the country you must register to Mexico’s tax authority (SAT) so you can legally conduct business and pay taxes. Unlike the United States, Mexico does not have one nationwide real estate license system, so requirements vary by state.

Some states require brokers or agents to obtain licenses or certifications, while others only require registration. Although a college degree is usually not required, most successful brokers complete training in real estate law, contracts, sales, property valuation, and Mexican property regulations. Many professionals also earn certifications through organizations like AMPI or CONOCER to improve credibility and career opportunities. Most brokers begin by working as agents under an established brokerage before gaining enough experience to open their own real estate business.
