Taking into account various sources, I sumed up the credentals needed to become a broker. First off, I need to be at least 18 years old before I start anything. Now this is where the pathways start to divert, i can either get 2 years of full-time real estate salesperson experience within the last 5 years or I need to get a 4 year college degree in real estate as a major or minor.

The college courses that count towards the real estate major are Real Estate Practice, Legal Aspects of Real Estate, Real Estate Finance, Real Estate Appraisal, Real Estate Economics or Accounting and lastly 3 approved electives such as Business Law, Property Management, Escrow, etc. After fitting into one of those requirments, you would then need to pass the California broker exam, and then lastly Submit fingerprints/background check (Live Scan).
